Invest in People

Life of developing people. It’s a waste when we give pearl to a pig. Make sure you are investing in the right person. Nobody is perfect. They who have known and understood their purpose in life should be completing one another just like what the members of a body does one another. At this moment, what is written here allows me to be functioned as a thinker. Others who are catching the message of what is written here could become a doer, the same thing applies to me.

“Focus on what you could do to develop others.”

Any way, if I have to ask my self questions to bring my mind in to ways of personified the life of developing others, the question which will come up could be: #1 Does this person is in a need of what you are going to give? #2 He/She is not a tipically pig who will do stupid thing to the pearl by just ignoring it in a mud, isn’t He/She?

While this thought is coming to fill my mind, it was a “picture of my imagination about how this thought could be practised” coming up into my mind.

“I am older and working as a part of Research and Development Team for a company. I am on my way to my office. During that time I am hired a private driver. Things which I am able to do in developing my driver: His job definitely brings him to a lot of “waiting time”. I then give him a book. Then I will assign him to read the book to fill his “waiting time” and he has to share me the summary of the book he has read on my way back home from the office.

After my driver works for some period, then I hire another driver before I allow the previous one to move into higher level by having a better job. And of course, he has to do a lil’ mentor to this new driver before this one start to work as his replace.”

Why do we have to invest in the people who are really in need?

Let’s take Driver (D) vs. Employee (E) with average salary. On my current perpective, E is having higher tendency to treat the development process (read previous paragraph) just like what pig does to a pearl. The reason is because most E has already had the head knowledge about developing people. They are just haven’t arrived to the point of having the willingness to implement it. It is different with D, he even has not known yet about the head knowledge. Got what I mean?
